ANZ, Alcott Foundation Launch Financial Ed Program

ANZ Bank

ANZ has expanded its partnership with the Dylan Alcott Foundation to include delivery of tailored MoneyMinded financial education workshops for Australians living with disability.

The initiative will be rolled out through Berry Street Yooralla - a newly merged organisation that brings together Berry Street's expertise in trauma-informed community services and Yooralla's long-standing leadership in disability support.

The collaboration aims to empower participants from the Dylan Alcott Foundation community by building their financial knowledge, confidence, and practical money management skills.

ANZ's 2022 research underscores the importance of targeted financial education, revealing that people with disability or long-term health conditions are twice as likely to have no savings compared to those without.

Berry Street Yooralla will lead the design and delivery of customised session plans for the Dylan Alcott Foundation community, with workshops set to begin in December 2025. As a pilot program, it will explore how MoneyMinded can be effectively adapted for direct delivery within the disability sector.

Dylan Alcott, who has partnered with ANZ since 2017 in his mission to empower young Australians living with disability, says the workshops will give participants the tools and confidence to take control of their financial futures.

"Financial literacy is a powerful tool for independence. These workshops will equip young people with disability with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions and unlock greater opportunities in life.

"At the Dylan Alcott Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to thrive, and that includes access to the skills and support needed to manage money and plan for the future.

"This partnership with ANZ and Berry Street Yooralla is about breaking down barriers and ensuring that young Australians with disability have the agency and resources to shape their own financial journeys," Mr Alcott said.

ANZ Head of Social Impact, Janet Liu, said: "MoneyMinded was designed to empower people with the knowledge and tools needed to take control of their money and their lives.

"Expanding our partnership with the Dylan Alcott Foundation reinforces this commitment, and we are really proud of an initiative that puts young Australians living with disability at the centre - ensuring they have access to tools and support needed to build financial independence," Ms Liu said.

Berry Street Yooralla CEO, Terry Symonds, said: "We are thrilled and proud to be a part of this initiative. By combining our deep expertise in disability services with ANZ's trusted and proven financial program, we are creating meaningful opportunities for young people to build independence.

"This partnership is about more than education - it's about empowering young Australians with disability to thrive," Mr. Symonds said.
