Appeal for assistance in illegal hunting investigation, Crossdale

Detectives from Crime and Intelligence Command's Major and Organised Crime Squad Rural (Forest Hill) are appealing for public assistance into two separate incidents at Crossdale after two cows were found shot dead on a rural property along with a deer on nearby land.

The cattle, worth $2,500 each, were shot and killed on a rural property on Wivenhoe Somerset Road between March 14 - 31. A small quantity of meat was removed.

A deer was found shot dead near Lake Somerset by Seqwater rangers, with surveillance images capturing several people carrying firearms trespassing between March 29 - 31.

Police have commenced an investigation into the illegal hunting and are investigating if those pictured are responsible for both incidents.

Detectives are appealing for those pictured in the surveillance images or to anyone with information to come forward.
