Appeal for assistance: Suspicious fires at Gladstone

Detectives from Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for public assistance following a series of suspicious grass fires in the greater Gladstone region.

Between April and May this year, a large number of grass fires have been reported around Kirkwood Road and Don Young Drive in Gladstone, the Dawson Highway at Burua, the Bruce Highway at Calliope and Gladstone Mount Larcom Road at Yarwun which police suspect have been deliberately lit.

No one has been injured.

Investigators urge anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or has footage that may aid with investigations to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
