Appeal for witnesses after indecent assault in Waterloo

Detectives are appealing for public assistance following an alleged indecent assault in inner Sydney.

Police have been told a woman was indecently assaulted on Phillip Street, Waterloo, about 5am on New Year's Day (Tuesday 1 January 2019).

Detectives from Redfern Police Area Command would like to speak with the woman, and her female colleague, who may have witnessed the incident.

The woman is described as being about 25 years old, 170cm tall, with a slim build, short blonde curly hair and wearing a black dress.

Both women spoke with an English accent.

The alleged offender is described as being aged in his teens, Caucasian in appearance, about 152cm tall, with a skinny build, and wearing a black t-shirt.

Police would also like to speak with two cyclists who may have witnessed the alleged incident.
