Appeal into armed robbery at newsagency at Ulladulla

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance as inquiries continue into the armed robbery of a newsagency on the state's South Coast earlier this year.

Just before midday on Thursday April 29, a man – armed with a knife and with a stocking covering his face – entered a newsagency on Wason Street, Ulladulla, and threatened a 53-year-old female employee.

Another employee, a 49-year-old man, intervened and handed the man cash before he fled.

Although shaken, both employees were uninjured.

The man was last seen in a carpark behind Wason Street, where it is believed he fled in an older model red Ford sedan, almost colliding with a utility as it exited the Burrill Street driveway and drove away.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, investigators are seeking to identify the man who has been described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged in his late 20s, about 175cm to 180cm tall, with stubble.

At the time, he was wearing a white t-shirt, cap and dark pants.

Additionally, investigators have released CCTV and are seeking any information in relation to the man running from the scene or the red Ford sedan seen leaving the area shortly after the robbery.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed, or has dash cam footage, of the incident to contact Ulladulla Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
