Applications for Early Career Industry Fellowships 2023 are now open
Applications are now open for an Australian Research Council (ARC) Early Career Industry Fellowship. These fellowships will help solve industry challenges using the expertise and skills of researchers from both universities and industry.
ARC Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judi Zielke PSM, said that Industry Fellowships support researchers from either academia or industry get invaluable experience working in different environments. The fellowships will help researchers build skills and networks across universities and industry while achieving tangible research outcomes.
"Providing opportunities for early career researchers to collaborate with colleagues in an industry setting is crucial to ensure that Australian can meet the challenges of tomorrow," Ms Zielke said.
"Working with a broad range of stakeholders, the ARC has made this scheme flexible for researchers from both industry and academia. Breaking down barriers will help industry understand the importance of research and development in growing their business. Creating opportunities for this type of collaboration is important for Australia's prosperity."
With $215 million in new ARC funding over a four-year period, the Industry Fellowships Program will allow early, mid- and senior researchers explore career opportunities in both industry and academia for research collaboration, translation, and commercialisation.
The fellowships will help build innovation in the research and industry sectors and facilitate the adoption, translation and commercialisation of Australian research over time.
The Early Career Industry Fellowship scheme is open to postdoctoral researchers wanting to build industry experience and expertise, or career researchers from industry looking to return to the university system to work on industry problems.
