It's that time of year again when Wagga Wagga City Council is calling for community groups, organisations, individuals and local businesses to apply for funding for their projects, events or ideas through the Annual Grants Program.
The program is designed to help fund projects that benefit our city and villages, and is part of Council's commitment to developing a vibrant and diverse community in line with the goals of the Community Strategic Plan 2050.
Applications for the 2026/27 Annual Grants Program are now open, with funding available across 10 categories including Community Programs & Projects; Recreational & Community Facilities; Neighbourhood & Rural Villages; Rural Halls; Arts, Culture & Creative Industries; Local Heritage; Events; Environment; Youth Programs & Projects, and Small Business.
Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout said the Annual Grants Program is a great way to help fund projects and ideas that have been on the radar for local groups and individuals.
"If you are part of a community group, sporting group, hall committee or if you have an idea that needs funding support, I encourage you to apply for a grant through the Annual Grants Program," Cr Tout said.
"Each year the program supports the delivery of initiatives in the community, such as workshops, wellbeing activities, community events, upgrades of facilities and purchase of much needed equipment.
"We love to see the flow-on benefits of the funding being used in the community, such as increased use of community facilities, wider participation, and a boost in community pride and identity."

To be eligible for the funding, your community group, business or facility must be located within the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area, and the project must take place before the 30 June 2027.
Further eligibility requirements are set out for each of the categories which are listed on our website.
It is a requirement that applicants speak with the Grants Officer for the category of funding they are applying for prior to submitting the application.
Applicants are encouraged to attend the Community Consultation Session for the 2026/27 Annual Grants Program on Friday 27 March 2026, between 10am - 12pm in the Council Meeting Room at the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre.
Applications for the 2026/27 Annual Grants Program close at 11:59pm (AEDT), Monday 4 May 2026.
