Young sports people are being encouraged to apply for the next round of the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation grants, with applications open until 5pm on Thursday 28th April 2022.

The grants seek to provide financial assistance to promising young sports people, assisting them with the necessary coaching and competitive experience required to represent Goulburn in their chosen sport, outside our region.

Mayor Peter Walker encouraged people to get their applications in soon, especially those looking to compete in representative sport over winter.

"The application process is designed to be very simple and achievable, and I think it is important that our young people get involved in doing this themselves.

"The form provides very easy to understand information which explains which applications are eligible, with the main criteria being participation in competition or carnivals outside of Goulburn Mulwaree. You can also apply for assistance to participate in coaching schools or clinics which are not accessible here locally."

Applications should be made in writing, with forms available online through Council's website, or from customer service at the Civic Centre (184 Bourke Street, Goulburn).

These applications are then assessed by the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation grants committee, before being presented at a Council meeting likely to be held in June.
