Ararat Rural City Council is inviting parents and families to attend kindergarten open days being held across the municipality throughout May and June.
Six kindergartens will open their doors to prospective families, providing an opportunity to meet educators, explore learning environments, and discover what makes each service unique. The open days will be held at locations including Ararat, Lake Bolac, and Willaura, with sessions scheduled between 3.00pm and 5.30pm on weekdays to accommodate working families.
Ararat North Kindercare at 66 Blake Street will host its open day on Monday 18 May from 3.30pm to 4.00pm, while Carey Street Kindergarten at 9 Carey Street will open from 3.00pm to 3.30pm on the same day. St Andrews Kindergarten at 275 Barkly Street will welcome visitors from 4.30pm to 5.00pm on Monday 18 May.
Lake Bolac Kindergarten at 1 Montgomery Street will hold its open day on Wednesday 20 May from 11.00am to 12.30pm, and Willaura & District Kindergarten at 91 Main Street will open on Friday 22 May from 10.00am to 11.00am. Jack and Jill Kindergarten at 19 Robsons Lane will host its open day on Wednesday 3 June from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Ararat Rural City Council Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the open days provided families with a chance to see firsthand the quality early learning opportunities available across the region.
"These open days give parents the opportunity to visit our kindergartens, talk with educators, and see for themselves the great learning environments we have right here in our community," Mayor Sanders said. "Early childhood education sets the foundation for lifelong learning, and we want families to feel confident and comfortable with their choice of kindergarten."
"I encourage all families to take advantage of these sessions and see what our local kindergartens have to offer."
