Armed Burglary With Violence, Ramsay

Police have charged three men in relation to an attempted armed robbery at Ramsay on Saturday, May 24.

Around 5.10pm it is alleged three men were attempting to break into a Sawpit Road property at Ramsay, when they were disturbed by a neighbour.

It is then alleged one of the offenders threatened a teenage boy who was a neighbour with a firearm, before the three offenders left the scene in a red 2008 Holden Commodore utility which had been stolen from a Harristown address earlier the same day.

The boy was not physically injured.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle after it was sighted in Toowoomba, however the offenders failed to stop before abandoning the vehicle at Graydon Street at Newtown leaving the scene on foot.

They were located a short time later at a Drayton Road address at Harristown, where it is alleged, they refused to come outside to police.

Officers from Toowoomba Police Station, Public Safety Response team and Toowoomba Dog Squad, attended the scene arresting one offender as he attempted to flee the scene.

The two other offenders were taken into custody after surrendering to police.

A 25-year-old Newtown man has been charged with five offences including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter dwelling and commit and one count of obstruct police.

A 23-year-old Rockville man has been charged with four offences including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit and enter dwelling with intent whilst armed.

And a 21-year-old Gailes has been charged with five offences including three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit and enter dwelling with intent whilst armed.

All three have appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today and have been remanded in custody.
