Armed man facing charges in Kingaroy, QLD

Police have charged a man following an incident in Railway Terrace, Kingaroy today, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged, around 12.50pm a man, armed with a machete and an axe, entred the front yard of a property on Railway Terrace before being witnessed by the residents of the property.

When challenged by the residents, the man fled along Gladys Street and was located by police in Kingaroy Street, a short time later. Police located the weapons nearby.

A 32-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with going armed so as to cause fear, assault and trespass. He is due to appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court tomorrow.
