Armed robbery appeal, Garbutt

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Garbutt this morning, March 17.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 5am, two offenders have attended a service station along Pilkington Street armed with what appeared to be a firearm.

The station attendant locked the door prior and the pair were unable to gain entry. They departed in a dark coloured sedan driven by another person.

A short time later, two offenders have gained entry to a service station along Ingham Road.

They produced what appeared to be a firearm and threatened the staff, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The staff members, a 19-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman, complied and were not physically injured in the incident.

The pair left the store with a quantity of money, cigarettes and other products and fled in a red coloured sedan driven by another person.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision from the area to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
