Armed robbery appeal in Maroubra

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at Maroubra.

About 7pm (Saturday 19 January 2019), a 71-year-old man attended a shopping centre on Anzac Parade, withdrawing cash from an ATM.

Whilst returning to his car in the carpark of the shopping centre, the man was approached by another man, who threatened him with a knife.

The victim handed the man cash. The offender then walked away, crossing Anzac Parade and walking down Alma Road.

The offender was then seen to walk back and re-enter the carpark before he was lost sight of.

The incident was reported to police from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation.

The man has been described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 20-30 years old, olive skin, a moustache, and he was wearing a light blue hooded jumper with a large pocket at the front and white motif, shorts and shoes.
