Armed robbery arrest

Regional Investigations Unit Detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into a series of three armed robberies that occurred in January and February 2019.

The first robbery occurred on 21 January 2019 at a supermarket located on Arnisdale Road in Duncraig where it is alleged the man was armed with a knife.

The second incident occurred on 28 January 2019 at the same supermarket in Duncraig and it is alleged the man was armed with a screwdriver.

The third robbery occurred on 8 February 2019 at a supermarket located on Birchwood Avenue in Woodlands and it is alleged the man was armed with a knife.

The 23-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with:-

• Three counts of Armed Robbery;

• One count of Possess Prohibited Drug;

• One count of Possess Drug Paraphernalia; and

• One count of Disorderly Conduct in a Police Station.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 20 March 2019.
