Armed robbery – Forestdale

Police are investigating after a man armed with a baseball bat robbed a service station of an empty cash tray at Forestdale in the early hours of this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 2am a man and a woman in a silver older model sedan attended the Johnson Road premises.

The man got out of the car and threw a besser brick at the front entrance doors causing it to crack.

He then kicked in the door causing the glass to shatter. He returned to the vehicle and armed himself with a baseball bat before entered the premises through the shattered door.

The man made demands for money and the 27-year-old male employee retreated and locked himself in a back room.

The offender removed an empty cash till from the register.

While attempting to leave the man slipped on the floor. At this time the woman entered the premises and both fled the business through the shattered door with the empty cash tray.

The man and the woman got back into the car and were last seen heading west on Johnson Road towards Carol Park.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
