Arrest after incident in Cooloongup, WA

Rockingham Detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into an incident in Cooloongup on 12 November 2017.

It is alleged around 2:55am, the man forced entry into a home on Athena Court. He threatened the occupants of the home with an axe, WA Police say.

It is further alleged the man used the axe to smash a bathroom door and the windscreen and side windows of a vehicle at the home. No-one was injured during the incident.

Investigations by Rockingham Detectives led to a search warrant being executed at a home in Kwinana on 21 November 2017. During the search police located and seized various weapons including knuckle dusters and nunchakus.

A 24 year old man from Kwinana has been charged with:-

•Two counts of Criminal Damage;

•One count of Aggravated Burglary;

•One count of Being Armed in a Manner to Cause Fear;

•One count of Possess a Controlled Weapon; and

•One count of Possess a Prohibited Weapon.

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
