Arrest for armed robbery series, WA

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged two people as a result of their investigation into a series of armed robberies that occurred between 7am and 11am on Sunday, 6 January 2019.

It is alleged on 6 January 2019, the couple stole a Toyota Echo during a burglary at a home in Queens Park before stealing a bag in Wilson which contained the car and house keys for a home in Dianella. It is also alleged they went to the Dianella home where they trespassed on the property. , WA Police say

It is further alleged during a 40 minute period, the man using a disguise and armed with a knife, and the woman driving the stolen Toyota Echo, robbed three service stations located in Karawara, Willetton and Langford.

Around 11.45am, the stolen Toyota Echo was located burnt out in bushland in Forrestfield.

A 26-year-old man from Thornlie has been charged with:-

•Four counts of stealing;

•Two counts of Armed Robbery;

•Two counts of Being Armed in a Way that May Cause Fear;

•Two counts of Threats to Injure, Endanger or Harm any Person; and

•One count of Attempted Armed Robbery.

A 28-year-old woman from Rivervale has been charged with:-

•Two counts of Armed Robbery;

•One count each of Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;

•Stealing;

•Steal Motor Vehicle;

•Trespass;

•Aggravated Armed Robbery; and

•Criminal Damage by Fire.

They are both due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 16 January 2019.
