Arrest Made for Aggravated Assault in Alice Springs 14 September

The NT Police Force has arrested a 25-year-old male following a disturbance in Alice Springs yesterday evening.

Around 6:20pm, police received reports of a male allegedly assaulting a female known to him on Gregory Terrace before fleeing the area.

A short time later, it is alleged the male drove a vehicle at speed towards a group of people known to him on Hartley Street, forcing them to run to avoid being struck.

The group, two females aged 50 and 53 and a 60-year-old male, were not physically injured and did not require medical treatment.

The 25-year-old alleged offender fled the scene prior to police arrival but was arrested later that evening at a residence in Gillen.

He has since been charged with Acts intended to cause serious harm, Aggravated assault, Engage in conduct that contravenes a domestic violence order and multiple traffic offences.

He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 15 September 2025.
