Arrest Made for Aggravated Assault in Alice Springs 9 February

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 19-year-old male in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred earlier this month in Alice Springs.

On Sunday 1 February, it is alleged a 16-year-old female was approached by a female and a male, both known to her, when the male attempted to strike her to the head with an edged weapon. The victim blocked the strike with her hand before falling to the ground, where the female offender allegedly kicked her multiple times.

The 17-year-old female offender was arrested a short time later by police.

On Sunday 8 February, the 19-year-old male was arrested by members from Operation Ludlow II and Strike Force Viper at a residence on Ashwin Street in Gillen.

He was charged with Recklessly endangering serious harm and Aggravated assault. He was remanded in custody to appear in court today and was further remanded to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court on 24 February.
