Armadale Detectives have charged three people as a result of their investigation into a number of incidents in Roleystone on Sunday 28 May 2017.
It will be alleged they gained entry into a bakery on Jarrah Road in Roleystone and stole a number of items. They then attempted to gain entry into a bank nearby by breaking a glass panel on the front door, WA Police say.
It is further alleged they went to a nearby service station, where they threw rocks and assaulted a fuel tanker driver. The window of the truck was smashed during the incident, with the driver locking himself in the tanker cabin to escape the men.
They then attempted to gain entry into the service station by smashing the front door but were unsuccessful.
An off-duty officer male Senior Constable was in the area and attempted to apprehend the men as they were running away. It is believed he was then assaulted. The officer remains in Royal Perth Hospital where he is being treated for multiple facial fractures and a broken nose.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
