Arrests made in relation to armed robbery in Mill Park

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested four men following an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Mill Park on Tuesday 14 March, Victoria Police say.

Investigators arrested:

A 27-year-old from Lalor;

A 25-year-old from Stawell;

A 21-year-old from Craigieburn; and

A 19-year-old also from Craigieburn;

All of the men were interviewed in relation to the alleged armed robbery and the theft of the black BMW SUV.

The 27-year-old was released pending further investigation in relation to the armed robbery and charged with theft of motor car and handle stolen goods. He was bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court on 4 August.

The 25-year-old was charged in relation to the alleged armed robbery and faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning. He was remanded to appear again on 8 June.

The 21-year-old was not charged pending further investigation in relation to the alleged armed robbery. He was charged with theft of motor car and other unrelated offences and remanded to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 13 April.

The 19-year-old was charged with theft of motor car and driving offences and was bailed to appear at the Heidelberg Magistrates’ court on 28 June. He was not charged in relation to the alleged armed robbery, pending further investigation.

Detectives are still looking for a fifth man in relation to the armed robbery.
