Arrests made over Pareora firearms incident

Christchurch Police and Armed Offenders Squad executed a search warrant at a Burnham address linked to the Mongols gang this morning in relation to a firearms incident in Pareora last Saturday.

A man was allegedly shot at a residential address at around 1:45pm on 10 July.

He was transported to Christchurch Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Three men have been taken into custody this morning and are speaking with Police.

The men, aged 24, 31, and 39, will appear in the Christchurch District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

No one else is sought in relation to the incident.

Police continue to appeal for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has any information which may assist, to contact Police on 105 and quote file number 210710/7344.
