Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a vegetation fire burning near Kimalo Road, Arriga. The fire is moving in a northerly direction towards Stanton Road. It is burning in an inaccessible area and posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are conducting backburning operations and aircraft are waterbombing in an effort to contain the blaze. Smoke is affecting the area, so residents should close windows and doors, and keep respiratory medications close by if required. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If you feel your property is under threat, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
