Art Gallery celebrates 40 years with launch of 2023 program

Griffith Regional Art Gallery will celebrate 40 years with the launch the 2023 exhibition program and a very special guest.

The official launch will take place at the Gallery on Friday, 10 February 2023 at 6pm.The event will include a full rundown on all upcoming exhibitions for the year, as well as public programs including workshops and art classes.

Art Gallery Manager, Marg Andreazza said, "We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming artist Alison Mitchell to our launch. Alison's exhibition Unlemon: A Meandering tale of Citrus is currently on exhibition at the Gallery, so we are delighted she can join us to talk about her beautiful artworks."

"This year marks a milestone in the history of the Gallery as we celebrate its 40th birthday. To commemorate this, we will be curating an exhibition of artworks, historical information and other ephemera highlighting the Gallery's 40 year history. This event, taking place in September, will be a highlight of our 2023 program," Mrs Andreazza said.

Art Gallery Coordinator, Ray Wholohan said, "Our 2023 program will focus on exhibitions and projects that engage artists based in the Riverina or how they have practiced art making the Riverina and themes that are relevant to our diverse community. Our Public Programs Officer, Melanie Toscan has been busy planning a number of engaging public programs and workshops, art talks, after school kids' art classes and holiday programs throughout this year."

The Gallery is also pleased to announce the continued partnership with local winery Dee Vine Estate.
