Ashurst advises lenders on financing investment in ATOS Group by ICG

Ashurst advised Bank of Ireland, Commerzbank, ING, Siemens Bank, SMBC and UniCredit as lenders on the financing of the investment in ATOS Group by Intermediate Capital Group (ICG). The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms and conditions of the financing.

ATOS Group is a network of specialist clinics with approx. 170 doctors, nine inpatient clinics as well as eleven outpatient locations and has become one of the quality leaders in the field of cutting-edge orthopaedic medical care in Germany. The clinics focus on exceptionally high medical and service standards, uniting highly specialised and internationally renowned specialists as partners under one roof. The group was established in 2016 when three specialist clinics were carved out from the MEDIAN clinic group. ICG will support the group’s future growth significantly, relying on a close partnership with the current management team, which increases its stake in the company.

The Ashurst team was led by partner Dr Matthias Weissinger and counsel Sabrina Bremer. They were assisted by counsel Dr Philipp Vorbeck and transaction lawyer Ena Selimbegovic (all Global Loans). Advice on tax law was provided by partner Dr Anders Kraft and associate Steffen Bellmann.

Ashurst’s German banking and finance practice advises both banks and alternative lenders, private equity investors and companies on domestic and cross-border acquisition, real estate, asset and infrastructure / project finance as well as on financial restructuring and corporate lending.
