Ashurst Guides Mill Rig Wind Farm Financing

Global law firm Ashurst has advised NatWest as lenders to the Mill Rig wind farm financing, a 33.4MW Scottish onshore wind project.

OnPath Energy, a leading UK renewables developer, has achieved financial close on the project, which has a subsidy free, long-term route to market with a US technology company offtaker. NatWest provided project financing for the asset, with the long-term agreement including a term loan and other ancillary facilities to support the project throughout its construction and operational life.

The six turbine Mill Rig wind farm, which sits between Strathaven and Darvel in South Lanarkshire, will feature some of the UK's most advanced turbines to maximise energy generation and efficiency, and will further increase OnPath Energy's support for Scotland's ambitious renewable energy goals.

The Ashurst team was led by partner Lindsey Bouchara, supported by partners Antony Skinner and Michelle Davenport, senior associates Sam Naylor and Jack Jones, associates Ciaran Rutherford, Harriet Curran and Oscar Jeremy and trainees Olivia Reed and Millie McElroy.
