Police continue to investigate after three people were assaulted and a vehicle stolen at Burpengary this morning, 14 September.
At 5.45am a woman arrived at a service station on the Bruce Highway, when she was approached by a man and woman. The man assaulted the victim demanding keys to her car however the woman was able to flee with her keys.
The pair have then smashed the window of another parked car and assaulted the female passenger, demanding keys to the vehicle. The victim did not have the keys and the pair then approached a third vehicle, a Mitsubishi Outlander.
The male driver was assaulted, and the pair fled in the Mitsubishi Outlander, heading north on the Bruce Highway.
At 11.15am, police received information the Outlander had crashed on a property on Old Caloundra Road in Glenview. The man and woman had fled into bushland prior to police arrival and an extensive search failed to locate the pair.
Police have seized the Mitsubishi Outlander, and a firearm located nearby.
Investigators are appealing for the man and woman to contact police.
