Police have charged a woman following investigations into an assault and attempted robbery in Aitkenvale last night, 23 November.
Around 8.13pm, police will allege a 33-year-old Townsville woman assaulted the driver after getting on a bus along Ross River Road. It will be further alleged, the woman then caused damage to the bus and attempted to take money from the till.
Police attended and arrested the woman a short time later.
The 73-year-old bus driver sustained a minor injury.
The 33-year-old woman has been charged with one count each of robbery, serious assault, and wilful damage.
She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning, 24 November.
Investigations are ongoing.
