Police have arrested a further four teenagers following investigations into the assault and robbery of three teenage boys at Palm Beach last month.
Around 7pm on Saturday June 10, a number of teenagers attended a gathering on the beach in the vicinity of the 'Pirate Park'.
It will be alleged that, a group of males approached the gathering and, during separate incidents, assaulted three boys before fleeing on foot.
In the first instance around 9:15pm, it will be alleged that a 15-year-old Elanora boy was punched in the nose and sustained a broken left leg and a 15-year-old Burleigh Heads boy sustained facial injuries.
Both boys had their 'Nike' shoes allegedly stolen and were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
Approximately an hour later around 10:15pm, it will be alleged that a third 15-year-old boy sustained bruising and abrasions before his 'Nike' shoes were stolen. He was treated on-scene by paramedics.
Following investigations, police recently made four additional arrests:
On June 17, police arrested a 16-year-old Reedy Creek boy at Reedy Creek and he was subsequently charged with one count of robbery with violence whilst in company.
On July 2, police arrested a 15-year-old Tallai boy at Tallai and he was subsequently charged with one count of robbery with violence whilst in company.
Both were dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
On July 4, police arrested a 14-year-old Southport boy at Southport and he was subsequently charged with one count of robbery with violence whilst in company.
Today (July 6), police arrested a 15-year-old Bundall boy at Surfers Paradise and he has now been charged with two counts of robbery with violence whilst in company and one count of grievous bodily harm.
Both are scheduled to appear at the Southport Childrens Court at a later date.
Previous to these new arrests, police had already arrested a 15-year-old Worongary boy and 13-year-old Mudgeeraba boy in relation to this incident who were both dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justices Act, as well as a 17-year-old Southport boy who was subsequently charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery in company and stealing. He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Childrens Court at a later date.
Police continue to appeal to anyone with further information about the incident, or those involved, to come forward immediately.
