Assault occasioning bodily harm at Kallangur, QLD

Police have charged a man following an incident at Kallangur earlier this evening where a man was allegedly assaulted, Queensland Police say.

It alleged around 5.30pm, a verbal disturbance was in progress between the occupants two units on Boardman Street when a man from another unit attempted to intervene.

He was approached by a man involved in the disturbance who allegedly began verbally abusing when a second male approached and struck him with a cricket causing a laceration to his head.

The man attempted to retreat into his unit at which time his door was allegedly kicked in and he was again assaulted with a cricket bat to his back.

The 40-year-old man was transported to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment.

Police attended and took a 47-year-old Wishart man into custody.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and enter dwelling with intent.
