Police have charged six people in relation to an alleged serious assault incident in Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays on May 10.
It will be alleged at approximately 6.40pm, an altercation occurred at a hotel on Shute Harbour Road between eight people.
A 51-year-old Bowen man sustained serious injuries to his head and a 47-year-old Bowen man sustained minor injuries to his face and arm. Both were transported to Proserpine Hospital.
Following investigations, Police executed a search warrant at a Conway Road residence and seized a large quantity of cannabis and an unregistered weapon.
A 48-year-old Conway man was arrested on May 25 and charged with one count each of assaults occasioning bodily harm, common assault, producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of a weapon (air rifle).
A 26-year-old Cannonvale man and a 23-year-old Conway man were arrested on May 23 and have each been charged with one count each of assaults occasioning bodily harm, and common assault.
Two women aged 48 and 18, both from Conway, were each been charged with one count of common assault.
A 49-year-old Conway man was arrested on May 29 and charged with two counts of common assault.
All are due to appear before Proserpine Magistrates Court on July 7.
Investigations are ongoing.
