Assault occasioning bodily harm charges in Surfers Paradise, QLD

A man has been charged following investigations into a serious assault which occurred in Surfers Paradise yesterday afternoon, during which a man and a woman were injured, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at around 1.15pm, an incident occurred involving two vehicles which resulted in both vehicles stopping at the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevarde and Trickett Street.

One man exited his vehicle and approached the other vehicle where the male driver and female passenger had also exited their vehicle.

It will further be alleged the two men then became involved in a physical altercation before the man from the first vehicle assaulted the woman. He then assaulted the man again, resulting in him being knocked unconscious and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 30-year-old Marsden man presented himself to Southport Police Station today where he was later charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on February 13.
