ATM stolen from St Peters

Police are investigating the theft of an ATM from St Peters early this morning.

About 4.40am Wednesday 26 April police were called to a reserve on Fourth Avenue at Klemzig after reports of suspicious activity. Patrols attended and located an ATM on the soccer pitch. The ATM had been forced open and was completely empty. Witnesses saw a car leaving the area just before police arrived.

About 20 minutes later patrols were called to Harvey Street at Nailsworth after reports of a car on fire. MFS attended and extinguished the blaze, but the RAV 4 was completely destroyed. Enquiries are being made with the registered owner and whether there are any links with the stolen ATM.

Just before 6am this morning police were called to a petrol station on Stephens Terrace at St Peters after an employee arrived at work to discover the station had been broken into and an ATM was stolen. The ATM has been stolen about 3.30am.
