Attempted armed robbery in Woodridge, QLD

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred in Woodridge this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Officers were called to a grocery store on Smith Road at 5.35pm after a girl entered the business and approached the counter.

She made demands for money, and when the attendant did not comply, she lunched at him with a knife before fleeing the scene empty handed.

During the incident, the male suffered a laceration to his chest and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be no-life-threatening injuries.

The girl was last seen wearing a dark hooded jumper and trousers and was last seen on Smith Road.

Investigations are continuing.
