Attempted Murder charge - Acacia Prison

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a second person in relation to an incident at Acacia Prison on Sunday 27 December 2020, in which a 65-year-old male inmate was seriously injured.

The victim received multiple injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A 40-year-old inmate was previously charged by Midland Detectives with 'Attempted to Unlawfully Kill'. He is next due to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday 27 January 2021.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives from the Homicide Squad yesterday charged a second 40-year-old inmate with 'Attempted to Unlawfully Kill'. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court today, Friday 15 January 2021.
