The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) released regional personal insolvency statistics for the June quarter 2018.
The numbers of new debtors increased in the capital cities except Greater Hobart in the June quarter 2018 compared to the March quarter 2018. The number of new debtors in the Australian Capital Territory was unchanged.
The Greater Sydney regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Wyong (89), Penrith (78), and Campbelltown (NSW) (71). In the rest of New South Wales, they were Newcastle (49), Lake Macquarie - East (46) and Shoalhaven (44).
The Greater Melbourne regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Wyndham (93), Whittlesea - Wallan (83) and Casey - South (58). In the rest of Victoria, they were Geelong (49), Ballarat (41), and Mildura (23).
The Greater Brisbane regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Springfield - Redbank (79), Browns Plains (71) and North Lakes (64). In the rest of Queensland, they were Townsville (128), Ormeau - Oxenford (104) and Mackay (79).
The Greater Adelaide regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Onkaparinga (78), Playford (73) and Salisbury (49). In the rest of South Australia, they were Limestone Coast (16), Murray and Mallee (16) and Fleurieu - Kangaroo Island (13).
The Greater Perth regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Wanneroo (117), Swan (87) and Gosnells (79). In the rest of Western Australia they were Bunbury (42), Wheat Belt - North (27) and Albany (25).
The Greater Hobart regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Hobart - North West (20) and Hobart - North East (12). In the rest of Tasmania, they were Launceston (41), Devonport (27) and Burnie - Ulverstone (20).
The Greater Darwin regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Palmerston (26), Darwin Suburbs (21) and Darwin City (16). In the rest of Northern Territory, it was Alice Springs (16).
The Australian Capital Territory regions with the highest numbers of debtors entering personal insolvency were Tuggeranong (28), Belconnen (23) and Gungahlin (23). ---
