Australia Women's National Futsal Team Head Coach Miles Downie has selected a strong 14-player squad to represent Australia at the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 to be contested from 6 - 17 May.
The squad features 12 players who represented Australia at the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™ Qualifiers, joined by two new inclusions who have earned selection through standout performances at recent training camps.
The squad will depart for China on Tuesday, 29 April and will complete a short pre-tournament camp before opening their campaign on Tuesday, 6 May against hosts, China PR. This will mark Australia's debut appearance at the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™, further highlighting the rapid development of the women's futsal program.
The AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 draw placed Australia in Group A alongside hosts China PR, 2016 runners-up Uzbekistan, and world number 18, Chinese Taipei.
The Australians gained their place in the tournament after finishing top of their group with an undefeated record at the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers held in Uzbekistan.
The top three teams at the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 will then qualify for the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup™.
With the Philippines hosting the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup™ between 21 November and 7 December 2025, Football Australia saw an ideal opportunity to establish a team specifically for this cycle, ensuring a competitive pathway for the women's futsal program.

Australia Women's National Futsal Team Head Coach Miles Downie said: "This tournament is a huge opportunity for us. We've put a lot of energy into preparing for this moment. Knowing that a top-three finish gets us to the first ever FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup provided a clear goal from the conception of this team.
"The squad features a blend of experience and fresh energy, with a core group returning from the qualifying campaign. We've selected players who are not only talented, but who understand what it means to represent Australia and are ready to rise to the challenge. We don't take this opportunity for granted and everyone in the squad knows why they're here, and they've worked incredibly hard to earn this chance.
"The Futsal Asian Cup is the highest level of competition in our region, and for us to be part of it for the first time is a massive achievement. It gives our players the chance to test themselves against top-tier opposition like China PR and Uzbekistan - and that's exactly the kind of challenge we want," Downie concluded.
