Residents are invited to mark Australia Day on Thursday 26 January, 2023 at the Central Goldfields Shire Australia Day free, family event at the Station Domain, Maryborough.
A free breakfast and children's activities will commence at 8.30am followed by official proceedings at 9.15am. The Australia Day Awards – including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Award of the Year – will also be announced.
The event will also include a Citizenship Ceremony where new residents will become Australian Citizens.
Medallions will also be presented to all babies born during 2022 and books will also be presented to all four-year-old children starting kindergarten in 2023.
Events will also be held at townships across the Shire.
