Australia Day Award Nominations Open

Nominations for the 2022 Federation Council Australia Day Awards are now open.

You are invited to nominate a member of the local community whose exemplary contribution is deserving of recognition. This could be a friend, family member, workmate or someone you know who serves the community.

The Federation Council's Australia Day Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievers and community organisations that contribute to making Federation Council a great place to live. The awards honour citizens of the Federation Council who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

Citizen of the Year Award

Do you know of someone who has contributed or given outstanding service to the community over a number of years, achieved excellence in their chosen field or is an inspiration to others?

Nominate them for the Citizen of the Year Award.

Young Citizen of the Year Award

Do you know a young person under 30 years that has beaten the odds to achieve their dream, been inspirational to others, campaigned or contribute to change, or is a leader within the community?

Nominate them for the Young Citizen of the Year Award.

The Local Achiever Awards

Do you know a true blue Aussie that is always there to give a hand in your town or village, an outstanding volunteer or someone that's attitude embodies the qualities of Australian-ness!

Nominate them for a Local Achiever Award for your town or village.

The Community Group of the Year Award

The Community Group of the Year celebrates a community group or organisation that in the last year has been inspirational and bringing the community together during the pandemic and beyond.

Do you know a community group that reflects the importance of strong community values and achieves positive outcomes for the community of Federation and beyond? Have they found ways to connect to the community, amend their delivery programs to work within restriction, or introducing products to the community that were suited to the times of covid-19. They may have even hosted an event, project or program in an innovative or diverse way, maintained their memberships or delivered their programs during covid-19.

Schools within the Federation Council area are invited to nominate two students who have been outstanding achievers in 2020 in either academia, community or sports.

Award recipients will be announced at the official Australia Day Ceremony and Community Celebration on Wednesday 26 January 2022 in Corowa, at the Bangerang Park.

You can nominate a deserving individual or organisation for a 2022 Federation Council Australia Day Awards by completing and submitting the online form on Council's website.
