I hope you enjoyed your Australia Day celebrations and were able to celebrate the things that make us all so proud to be Australian and call this place our home. I was honoured to be part of a citizenship ceremony on the day, and to recognise members of our community who contribute to making Fairfield City such a great community. Congratulations to everyone recognised on the day. We also celebrated later in the evening with fun and fireworks to top off the day.
We love a good celebration in Fairfield City, and coming up next is Lunar New Year, one of our favourites! Come and join us in the heart of Cabramatta as we welcome the Year of the Horse on Saturday 28 February, from 11am to 9pm.
This much loved event attracts thousands of people from across Sydney, bringing our diverse community together for a full day of colour, culture and incredible food. Everyone's invited to be part of the fun.
There'll be plenty to enjoy for families, with lion dancing, pony rides, competitions, face painting, arts and crafts, balloon animals, amusement rides, delicious food, fireworks, and so much more happening throughout the day.
It's the perfect way to kick off the Year of the Horse - surrounded by joy, good fortune, and the lively atmosphere that makes Cabramatta such a vibrant destination.
We're expecting another great turnout this year, with locals and visitors alike coming together to experience the unique flavours, traditions and community spirit that make Fairfield City special.
Our Lunar New Year festival has been part of Council's events calendar for more than 25 years, and it's always a highlight. I'd love for you to join us as we celebrate together.
Fairfield City Council is proud to continue delivering exciting, high quality events for our community, and we can't wait to see you there!
