Australia nominates two Equality Initiative Ambassadors

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

Australia has formalised its engagement in the Equality in Energy Transitions Ambassadors Program through the department's nomination of 2 Australian Equality Initiative Ambassadors to serve as representatives of Australia's energy industry.

Congratulations Ms Anna Collyer and Ms Nicola Falcon who will serve as volunteers for an initial 12-month term as role models to champion the careers of professionals in the sector.

The Equality Initiative Ambassadors Program facilitates the opportunity for ambassadors from each member country to attract and inspire the next generation of women leaders in the clean energy sector.

Ambassadors come from multi-disciplinary clean energy fields, including industry, government, and universities. At the international level, the ambassadors' cohort is made up of proactive and highly qualified women and men who are leaders in the clean energy field and champions of gender equality.

Ms Collyer and Ms Falcon have been nominated for their leadership and commitment to advancing women's participation in the energy sector. Together they will represent Australia's energy industry and help build momentum towards meaningful global change.

As an active member of the Ambassadors Program, which falls under the umbrella of the Equality Initiative, the department will work with Ms Collyer and Ms Falcon to facilitate speaking opportunities, draw attention to and provide information on gender policies or data on the participation of women in their workplace.

We look forward to working alongside Australia's ambassadors to inspire the next generation of women leaders in the clean energy sector.
