Man Charged After Police Seize Guns, Drugs and Cash in Wellington

A man will face court charged after drugs, firearms and cash allegedly seized in the state's west.

On Tuesday (29 September 2026), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced investigations following reports a $100,000 ride on mower was stolen from a storage facility in Wellington.

Following inquiries, about 11.45am yesterday (Wednesday 30 September 2026), investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Cypress Drive, Yarrawong.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized six firearms including a pistol, sawn off semi-automatic rifle, a semi-automatic shotgun, ammunition, over 1kg of methylamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, $13,000 cash and a ride on mower.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Mudgee Police Station.

He was charged with:

- Possess greater than 3 unregistered firearms, 1 is prohibited/pistol

- Supply prohibited drug greater than commercial quantity

- Possess prohibited drug

- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit

- Receive property-theft=serious indictable offence greater than $5000

- Possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority

- Two counts of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 1 October 2026).
