The Australian Rugby League Commission has announced the Australian Women's Prime Minister's XIII squad to take on a PNG PM's XIII team at Suncorp Stadium next Sunday, September 25.
The squad is dominated by Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans representatives, as well as additional emerging players.
Sunday's event will not only represent the first time the PM's XIII matches have been held in Australia, it will also coincide with the NRLW semi finals on the same stage.
ARLC Chairman Peter V'landys AM said: "The Commission is proud to announce an exciting Women's PMs XIII ahead of the Rugby League World Cup. The Commission is committed to continuing to invest in our female pathways, from grassroots to elite. On Sunday we will get to experience three high quality fixtures, showcasing the quality of our female athletes.
"I'm particularly pleased we have been able to highlight the journey of four players from our Indigenous Women's Academy. Baylee Davies, Ahlivia Ingram, Sareka Mooka and Tawana Sullivan-Togo have all earned their selections following a camp alongside the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
"To have these outstanding young individuals represent the Prime Minister's XIII alongside captain Steph Hancock, leader and legend of the game at age 40, makes this a very special team."
Australian Women's PM's XIII Coach Brad Donald said the PM's XIII would provide an important step for World Cup aspirants.
"This is a very strong squad," Donald said. We have a mix of very experienced players as well as some of our up-and-coming young players who I'm very pleased to see being given this opportunity."
Tickets for the quadruple header start at $20 for adults and $40 for families for all four matches, via nrl.com/tickets. Juniors can also redeem a free ticket per paying adult in Categories 2 and 3.
All matches will be broadcast on the Nine Network and Fox Sports. The PM's XIII matches will be broadcast on GEM - representing the first time the PM's XIII matches have been broadcast on free-to-air television in Australia.
The PM's XIII matches have been made possible thanks to the support of the Federal Government, through the PacificAus Sports program. The program will support the PNG's Prime Ministers XIII teams to play in Australia.
