Award for Retirement Living Innovation

An innovative brokering model between Stockland and approved home care providers has enabled its serviced apartment residents to access funding for home care services for the first time.

Stockland's Serviced Apartments Home Care Brokerage Model has been recognised with the Award for Retirement Living Innovation, presented at the National Retirement Living Awards gala event on the Gold Coast.

Stockland residents have a choice of five approved home care providers under the model, providing them with flexibility to choose the provider which best meets their individual needs at a suitable price.

The funded care services provided to Stockland residents can also be delivered at a lower cost due to economies of scale from providing these services across all apartments rather than individually in an independent living unit or home setting.

The National Retirement Living Awards recognise the contribution and achievements across all areas of the retirement living sector by the people and companies helping ensure senior Australians have an enjoyable retirement.

There are currently more than 180,000 people living in more than 2,300 retirement villages across Australia. With 22 per cent of Australians expected to be over the age of 65 by 2054, the need for comfortable, affordable and supportive retirement living options is ever-increasing.
