Award winning plan shaping future of community services and infrastructure in Brimbank

Brimbank Council's Community Services and Infrastructure Major Policy and Plan has won the 2019 LGPro Corporate and Community Planning Award.

The Community Services and Infrastructure Plan 2018-2038 was adopted in November 2018 to guide planning of community services and infrastructure across Brimbank.

Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve said Council was thrilled to have the policy and plan recognised as industry-leading within the Local Government sector.

"Brimbank is evolving. It is a dynamic, bustling and growing community at the heart of Melbourne's booming west.

"We have long recognised the importance of being innovative and future-focused as we respond to Brimbank's changing community needs.

"The Community Services and Infrastructure Plan is a robust plan that explains Council's evidence-based approach to community services and infrastructure planning and delivery.

"It provides an overview of the community infrastructure we currently have and what services and facilities will be needed over the short, medium and long term.

"The plan helps guide our decision-making on community infrastructure projects, funding requirements, advocacy efforts and partnership opportunities," Cr Congreve said.

The LGPro annual Corporate and Community Planning Award celebrates the success of individuals and teams working in the Local Government Corporate and Community Planning sector in Victoria.

The award focuses on initiatives that demonstrate excellence in integrating Council and community planning.
