Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

A significant day which marks the commencement of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

We are proud to be once again supporting this campaign and will light up Monash Civic Centre in orange.

Council has long been a leader in its work to eliminate gender-based violence and discrimination, and to ensure that everyone is valued and treated as equals, regardless of their gender.

With one in three women in Australia experiencing violence from men, the global movement calls on communities to stand together against gender-based violence and help eliminate all violence against women and girls.

Learn more about what we are doing at our 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence page.

Help and support is available if you or someone you know is experiencing family violence through 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). If you are in immediate danger, call 000.
