Backyard Biodiversity Blitz Competition: Casey

Explore and connect with nature in your backyard and share your observations via the iNaturalist app as part of the City of Casey and Greater Dandenong's Backyard Biodiversity Blitz competition!

All you need to do is sign up to the iNaturalist app and register for the Backyard Biodiversity Blitz event. Then you are ready to snap photos of species in your backyard and share them with the iNaturalist community!

The Casey community member who registers the most observations will win a $50 Anaconda voucher and a pack of fantastic biodiversity identification guidebooks to help you identify more plants and animals. Runners up will also receive a prize.

By registering your observation and findings you are helping our community get a better understanding of what species call Casey home. You will be amazed at how many creatures you can find in your own backyard.

To help get your started we are hosting an online workshop on Thursday 3 September that will help you learn how to use the iNaturalist app. Through this training you will also get to know others taking part in the Biodiversity Blitz.
