Bagot Park Shared Path And Amenity Upgrades Now Complete

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin is proud to announce the completion of the Bagot Park shared path and amenity upgrades, delivering improved access, recreation opportunities and support for active transport in line with the goals of our Movement Strategy.

To support recreation and active lifestyles:

  • Two new drinking fountain and bottle refill stations have been installed-one along the pathway and one on the hill between the car park and soccer fields

  • Six new bike racks are now located near the soccer fields, providing secure storage for up to 12 bicycles.

The project also includes a new 410-metre shared pathway completed in August 2024, creating a key link through Bagot Park between Bagot Road and Sabine Road. The path enhances walkability and bike access for residents, visitors, and sporting groups using the park.

In September 2024, community members joined City of Darwin to plant 59 native NT trees, helping to increase shade, support biodiversity, and enhance the park's green character.

These upgrades support City of Darwin's vision for a healthier, more connected city, ensuring our parks and public spaces remain accessible and enjoyable for all.
