A Ballarat father is stepping into a future filled with promise after his $630,000 win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, a victory that has made his long-held dream of home ownership a soon-to-be reality.
This Central Highlands Victorian's life took a dramatic turn for the better when he was confirmed as one of the nine division one winners in the TattsLotto draw on Saturday, February 3, 2024, claiming a prize of $628,335.19.
The win came as a shock to the working dad, who discovered his fortune while in his shed amidst a normal Sunday of DIY.
“It’s so exciting!” he laughed when informed about his newfound wealth by a lotto official.
“I am still so frazzled. I’m struggling to comprehend the win.
“This ticket is really special because it has my partners and kid’s birthdays on it.
“I was in my shed yesterday morning, and I decided to check my lottery tickets. I was flicking through and then came across the winning ticket.
He added the reality of winning took time to settle in, with the night following the discovery being a restless one for him.
“I thought, ‘Hang on! That’s a big win!’. It didn’t register at first and I was staring at it for 10 minutes".
“I even tried to go to bed that night and I couldn’t – all I could think about was the win".
For this family, the struggle to secure their own home had seemed like a distant dream amid challenging times.
“It’s been a tough time, and we were dreaming of owning our very own home. We thought it wouldn’t be in a reach for quite some time but now it’s truly possible.
“We’re beyond ourselves.”
His winning 30-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at the official website.
