Ballarat's outstanding young people to be recognised

The winners of the City of Ballarat's 2019 Youth Awards will be announced at a gala event at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts tomorrow (Friday 25 October).

The event will include live music from Sonika Records participants Milla, Tilly and Charlotte plus an address from 2019 Youth Awards ambassadors Bridget Hustwaite and Sam Griffin.

With 20,000 people aged 12-25 living in Ballarat, the awards are an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution that young people make to our community through sporting clubs, volunteering, playing music, developing artwork, student leadership initiatives, youth groups, religious groups and environmental activities, to name a few.

Created in 2005, the Youth Awards highlight and celebrate young achievers in 11 categories, ranging from the arts to sports, community group initiatives, volunteer recognition and much more.
